Becoming an AI Cast member: what you're signing up for¶
So you're thinking about joining the AI Cast. Before you sign anything, here's the deal in plain English — what we ask of you, what we do with it, and what you walk away with.
What "AI Cast" actually means¶
Lookhouse is a marketplace for AI characters. An AI Cast is a digital version of you — your face, your look, your way of moving — that filmmakers, ad teams, and creators can drop into their own videos without booking you for every shoot.
The AI Cast roster is the supply side of our marketplace. That's you. You give us source material (photos, video clips, maybe a guided shoot). We turn it into an AI character that's tied to your likeness. Buyers pay to use it. You earn a cut every time it sells.
Think of it like stock footage, but the "footage" is a character that can show up in new scenes, in new outfits, doing new things.
The deal, in one paragraph¶
You license your likeness to Lookhouse so we can build an AI Cast from it and sell it to buyers under clear license tiers. You keep ownership of you — your face, your name, your real-world identity. We pay you a share of every sale. You can pause or retire your AI Cast at any time, though buyers who already purchased it keep their license. That's the whole thing.
What we'll need from you¶
To build an AI Cast that's actually good — and one buyers will pay for — we need clean source material. Depending on the kind of Cast you're making, that's usually:
- A set of reference photos (different angles, lighting, expressions)
- Short video clips showing how you move, talk, and emote
- An AI Cast Shoot — a guided capture session we walk you through. See AI Cast Shoot Guide — for Performers [NEEDS VERIFICATION on whether this is also a public help-center article]
- A signed consent and likeness agreement
- ID verification and tax info so we can pay you out [NEEDS VERIFICATION on exact requirements]
The better the source, the better the Cast, the more it sells. We'll guide you through every step.
What we do after you upload¶
- We use your source material to build your AI Cast — the file the AI uses to render you in a new video.
- We check it: does the character look like you? Does the motion hold up? Anything weird we should fix?
- We help you write the listing — title, description, sample clips, suggested prompts.
- You set your price and pick which license tiers you want to offer (Personal, Commercial, Ad/Broadcast).
- It goes live in the catalogue.
You can preview your AI Cast before it lists. If it doesn't meet your bar, we re-shoot or rebuild it.
How you get paid¶
Lookhouse is the merchant of record. That means we handle the credit-card processing, sales tax, VAT, refunds, and chargebacks — you don't.
When your AI Cast sells, you earn a revenue share on each sale. Payouts go out on a regular schedule to the payment method you set up. You'll see every sale in your earnings dashboard with the buyer's license tier, sale price, and your cut.

What stays yours¶
This part matters, so read it twice:
- You own your likeness. You're licensing it to Lookhouse for use in AI Casts sold on our platform. You are not selling your identity.
- You can retire your AI Cast. If you change your mind, you can take it off the marketplace at any time. New buyers can't purchase it. Existing buyers keep the license they already paid for — that's how marketplace sales work.
- You can report misuse. If you see your Cast used outside its license — say, someone uses a Personal-tier purchase in a national ad — report it and we'll act on it.
- We document consent for every Cast member. That's why our tagline says "legally clear to ship." Buyers trust your AI Cast because we can prove you said yes.
What we don't allow¶
A few things are off the table, for your protection and ours:
- You can only submit your own likeness. No celebrities, no friends without their consent, no minors.
- No content designed to defame, harass, or impersonate anyone.
- AI Casts that violate our content policy will be removed, and repeat violations end the account.
The full rules live in our Content Policy and Consent Standard. [NEEDS VERIFICATION — link these once the public pages exist.]
